WHAT WE DO TO BENEFIT THE YOUTH..

The group teaches the members dancing, drama and music for re-awakening of our tradition and also making them professional dancers, artist and musicians.

The group put some of members into trade apprenticeship like ( painting, carpentry, masonry, catering, dress making,fitting, and drum making etc)

Some of the members who willing to go to school are being supported by this organization to go to school till they finish senior high school and even further them to the university

Moreover, the group offer home education to support the youth who were unable to go to school at all and old enough to be in school this time. We offer them some subject like English language, mathematics and also find them some apprenticeship mention above.

We also offer Youth programs to speak generally to the public on social vices that does not help the youth like (HIV/AIDS, DRUG ABUSE, TEENAGE PREGNANCY, ETC) We alert the youth on how to abstain or to be protective through music, dance and drama.

My name is EMMANUEL CHARLES RICHARDSON, The founder and director of UNITYDRUM THEATER. African music and dance has been my life since I was born to the earth of Ghana in Africa. At the age of five my father started teaching me drumming but different from traditional drumming. My father was a great musician on the Ghana Cape Coast then. When I was nine years of age my dad and my elder brother took me to a group called the Twerampong Traditional Drumming and Dancing Group at the Cape Coast Castle. They knew where my source of motivation in life came from. I never knew I could dance but I always see the music in me as my passion. I humbly submitted to my leaders in the group and learnt drumming and dancing very well and everything else they were willing to teach me. In his living he always stays to be creative.So he just came about this dance to enhance the talent he has.The word cul is derived from the name people use to call him in the school, which is culturemanrich. So he just took the first three letters of the name he was named to,then added dance to it to be cul-dance, to be a sign of his own memory when he is not there.
